The EMS program enables fire, rescue, medical, and response personnel to be better prepared to deliver specific medical services within their communities. This highly successful program utilizes a combination of classroom and hands-on training to prepare the student with needed EMS skills and knowledge. All courses are administered utilizing state-of-the-art professional education and certification training and curriculum.

Experience – Instructional personnel have years of experience as EMTs and Paramedics in a variety of disciplines and service areas. Both full-time and adjunct staff are actively involved in the municipal, rural area, fire, rescue, industrial, maritime, or Department of Defense disciplines.

EMS TrainingESTI
The EMS program focuses on training emergency responders at all levels from ECA through Paramedic, as well as specialty courses such as CPR, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Since its beginning with ESTI in 2003, the program has trained more than 2,000 students in all aspects of emergency medical care.

EMS Leadership Development
EMS Leadership Academy provides leadership and management training for EMS Leaders. From the beginning the program philosophy has been to provide continuing education designed for professional development using an integrated EMS System approach. Training is designed to be people focused, performance measured and outcome driven, using a “can do” positive approach and attitude.

Rural/Frontier EMS Funding
TEEX in conjunction/cooperation with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is committed to improving pre-hospital care and emergency medical response in rural and frontier areas of Texas by improving the accessibility of training and EMS involvement. Through this program, TEEX can assist agencies and departments with initial EMS training, refresher training, continuing education training, and/or instructor training. Funding for this invaluable program comes from the TxDOT Traffic Safety Division and are offered at your location to minimize the time away from the station and keep volunteers in their community.

WMD/EMS Operations and Planning
This program will equip pre-hospital and hospital medical personnel with the skills needed to ensure proper patient triage, treatment, and transportation in the event of exposure to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNE) weapons. Students will be using both adult and pediatric human patient simulators to promote critical thinking skills, and demonstrate proper techniques for protecting themselves in these situations. Also available are several free online courses to gain specific knowledge on a variety of WMD/Terrorism topics.

US&R Medical Program
The US&R Medical Program includes all TEEX courses relevant to medical personnel responding to a natural disaster or terrorist incident. Unique challenges face the medical community during a natural disaster or terrorist incident. Personnel are required to perform tasks under harsh conditions, often with inadequate supplies, resources and staffing.
