The mission of the TEEX EMS Leadership Academy is to provide education for EMS Leaders focused on training that is people oriented, performance driven, and outcome measured. Using an EMS System approach our focus is to provide knowledge and skills necessary for the for each supervisory and management level:
We recognize that meeting the demands of variable schedules and shifting job requirements can make it difficult to find time for continuing education. In order to facilitate supervisory, management, and leadership training, three different formats for our core competency training program are offered.
| Class | 40 hour Version | 24 hour Version | Blended Version |
| Basic Supervisory Practices | EMS 800 | EMS 801 | EMS 802 |
| EMS System Management | EMS 810 | EMS 811 | EMS 812 |
| Executive Development | EMS 820 | EMS 821 | EMS 822 |
40 Hour Class: EMS 800, EMS 810,and EMS 820. Each level is a 40 hour class. Successful completion of all three levels of training results in award of the EMS Leadership Academy Certificate of Completion for EMS Supervision, Management and Leadership.
24 Hour Class: EMS 801, EMS 811, and EMS 821. Recognizing that not all people can attend the full 40 hour resident program, an abbreviated class consisting of 24 hours over three days is available. This class is offered for those who are not able to attend the full 40 hour program; who do not need the full spectrum of the materials offered in the 40 hour program, but still wish a sound introduction to supervisory and management practices. The TEEX EMS Leadership Certificate is NOT awarded for completion of the three levels of the 24 hour training.
Blended Class: In order to provide the full scope of core competency training in a format that better accommodates the challenging, changing demand of the various schedules with which EMS providers are frequently confronted, we offer the blended format. This class provides 24 hour equivalent training focused on the knowledge components; followed by a 16 hour resident portion focused on the skills components.. It is designed to meet all the learning objectives of the full class without the necessity of full residence training. Students are afforded the opportunity to print completion certificates at home for successful completions of the on-line portion.
Special Offerings: Any of the class materials can be tailored to meet your specific organizational needs. Please contact us for details and pricing information.
TEEX Leadership Development Program sponsors an annual symposium focused for mid and executive level leaders designed to provide cutting edge information and stimulate discussion and development of leadership and management practices for the future of emergency services. Usually conducted in January, this symposium brings speakers from across the country from Fire, EMS, and various Management disciplines to speak on the topics of the day.
