The Texas Engineering Extension Service’s OSHA Training Institute-Southwest Education Center’s CSHO Program is available to professionals in private industry and all government agencies. As one of the largest providers of workforce training in the nation, the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), a member of The Texas A&M University System, has been offering technical training and assistance to professionals and workers since 1948. We help more than 209,000 people each year upgrade their skills, become certified in their profession or learn more about new technologies.
TEEX CSHO Program in Brief
- Complete five to twelve core courses plus two to four elective courses(depending upon the TEEX CSHO track selected)
- No college degree required
- No time limits – Program is self-paced
- No annual CEUs – Just keep your OSHA 500 and OSHA 501 current every four years
- No annual membership dues
CSHO RECOMMENDATION
TEEX-Southwest Education Center recommends that the OSHA 500 or 501 Train-the-Trainer Course be taken near the end of the TEEX CSHO Track.

Benefits to participants of the TEEX CSHO Program

- Certification of program completion is provided by TEEX. The Council on Certification of Health, Environmental and Safety Technologists (CCHEST) also recognizes the TEEX CSHO Program as experience credit toward its OHST Certification Program.
- All TEEX CSHO tracks count towards 18 college credit hours for an online Associate of Applied Science Degree in Occupational Safety through San Juan College, Farmington, NM, and a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences Degree at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
