Each year, thousands of fire service personnel from municipalities and industries participate in intensive week-long training courses that make up the annual spring and summer fire schools. Courses range from basic to advanced levels and are taught by hundreds of instructors, each experienced in specific areas of emergency response.
The Barrett family has set up a scholarship fund, in honor of Pat Barrett. Gifts can be made to the Pat Barrett Scholarship Fund at the Texas A&M Foundation. This scholarship will benefit students of the Brayton Fire Training Field. Checks should be made payable to the Texas A&M Foundation and mailed to 401 George Bush Drive, College Station, Texas 77840-2811.
During the Annual School Programs conducted in July, TEEX provides a chance for vendors to reach those students participating. Each vendor show is on the Sunday during student registration before classes start the following Monday.
