For more than 70 years, employees from electric utilities across the nation have met at the one-week Southwest Electrical Metering Association (SWEMA) Texas Meter School to study the latest technologies in metering. The SWEMA Texas Meter School has a world of expertise behind its development and direction.
A committee comprised of utilities and manufacturers/suppliers, in cooperation with SWEMA, works with the Infrastructure Training & Safety Institute (ITSI), Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) of The Texas A&M University System to create and manage the annual school. These groups continually monitor the school, making improvements to make it the best conference of its kind. Quality instructors are selected from TEEX and from manufacturing and electric utility organizations. Each fall, the school is conducted in Bryan, near the Texas A&M University campus, home of the Bush Presidential Library.
The next SWEMA Texas Meter School will be held Oct. 25 - 29, 2010 at the Texas A&M University Riverside Campus, Building 6030 (3100 State Hwy 47, Bryan, TX 77807).
