The Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) is approved to train veterans and other eligible persons under the provisions of Section 3676(b), Chapter 36, Title 38, United States Code. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Facility Code is: 1-5-0826-43.
The TEEX CSHO Safety Management Certificate Program counts for 18 hours of college credit towards an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Occupational Safety from San Juan College and a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences Degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Both degrees may be earned online.
The training is offered on two TEEX campuses: 15515 IH-20 @ Lumley in Mesquite, TX, or 9350 South Presa in San Antonio, TX.

Upon completion of the program, each student will be issued a TEEX Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) – Safety Management certificate listing the chosen field of study.

Provides approximately 283 hours of safety-specific training and 28.3 CEUs.
The TEEX Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) – Safety Management Certificate is not a trainer CSHO. For completion of the trainer CSHO, a student must have five years of safety-related experience in either general industry or construction. The trainer course requires renewal every four years to maintain trainer and TEEX CSHO status.
