TEEX CSHO Program
Become an industry-recognized Certified Safety and Health Official TM (CSHO).
The TEEX CSHO Program is available to professionals in private industry and all government agencies. As one of the largest providers of workforce training in the nation, the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), a member of The Texas A&M University System, has been offering technical training and assistance to professionals and workers since 1948. We help approximately 200,000 people each year upgrade their skills, become certified in their profession or learn more about new technologies.

NEW TEEX CSHO Tracks
TEEX CSHO Program in Brief
- Complete five to 12 core courses plus two to four elective courses (depending upon the TEEX CSHO track selected)
- No college degree required
- No time limits – Program is self-paced
- No annual CEUs – Just keep your OSH500 and OSH501 current every four years
- No annual membership dues
CSHO RECOMMENDATION
TEEX's OSHA Training Institute Southwest Education Center recommends that the OSH500 or OSH501 be taken near the end of the TEEX CSHO Track.
Benefits to Participants of the TEEX CSHO Program
- Gain a solid and broad-based education in the Safety and Health field with 225 or more hours* of training by nationally recognized instructors
- Receive credit for your previous training at TEEX/OSHA or OSHA Training Institute, Chicago, Illinois
- Progress toward the Board of Certified Safety Professionals' Occupational Health and Safety Technologist® (OHST) certification by waiving 1 year of the OHST certification experience requirement.

- All TEEX CSHO tracks count towards 18 college credit hours for an online Associate of Applied Science Degree in Occupational Safety through San Juan College, Farmington, NM, and a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences Degree at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
NOTE: The fully-accredited TEEX CSHO degree program with San Juan College, Farmington, NM and Texas A&M University-Commerce is now recognized by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) towards the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) educational requirements. Both the Associate's degree in Occupational Safety & Health and the Bachelor's degree may be earned online. How to get started
- Choose a TEEX CSHO Track below and contact the TEEX Customer Care Center at 800-SAFE-811 (800.723.3811) to complete a TEEX CSHO Information Form.
- Complete the Prerequisite Requirement for the chosen track(s).
- Complete the required and electives courses at your own pace.
- Complete your trainer requirement (if applicable).
- Review your trainer plan with TEEX to verify that you have met all requirements.
- Complete a TEEX CSHO Application.
