Forensic Science Academy

The Texas Forensic Science Academy has several programs of study that lead to recognized technical certificates including; Forensic Technician, Forensic Investigator (Level I & Level II), Major Crimes Investigator, and Property and Evidence Management. These certificates are designed to give graduates a recognized credential that can translate into greater recognition within the criminal justice community. Texas Forensic Science Academy courses are accredited by the International Association for Identification and the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education.

Forensic Science Course Catalog

eLearning Course Approved by the International Association for Identification (IAI) as continuing education for Crime Scene Certification. Indicates an elective course for that program

TEEX SPOTLIGHT: TFSA trains 1600+ under grant from Texas Governor's Office

TFSA Counties

Thanks to a grant from the Texas Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, the Texas Forensic Science Academy (TFSA) at TEEX trained over 1600 law enforcement practitioners representing 526 Texas law enforcement agencies in crime scene and evidence processing skills. The grant also funded the development of an online version of the popular TFSA Basic Criminal Investigation course.
