Water Utility Certificate Program

Water Training Academy Primary Mark

TEEX now offers certificate programs in three water/wastewater disciplines: Wastewater Operator, Water Operator, and Water Utility Maintenance Technician. Earning a water or wastewater certificate demonstrates to employees and supervisors that you have completed a well-rounded education in your profession and attained the key safety knowledge and skills to protect yourself and your crew in this challenging profession.

Certified Water ProfessionalTM (CWP) Program

Certified Water Professional Logo

The Certified Water Professional (CWP) is a TEEX recognition program which represents the highest professional credential in the water utilities field. It provides a professional designation and recognition for those involved in water operations, wastewater operations or both water and wastewater. It also shows employers, co-workers, and the general public that the individual has achieved a high level of education, training, and experience within the water utilities field. The CWP designation assures the individual possesses the essential knowledge and experience as a professional within the water and wastewater industry.

The benefits of receiving the CWP designation can include:

  • Professional designation within the industry.
  • Potential benefits and career advancement.
  • Recognition by others of your professional commitment.

The CWP designation requires achieving at least 225 hours of professional continuing education in water, wastewater, and/or both. Completing the CWP demonstrates a superior level of commitment to the water profession.

There are three available tracks to receiving the CWP designation:

  • Drinking Water Track
  • Wastewater Track
  • Dual Water/Wastewater Track
