TEEX Fire Academy graduates 46 new firefighters
  Forty-six fire academy students will graduate today and join the ranks of professional firefighters around the world. During the 12-week training program conducted by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), these recruits received both classroom and hands-on training in every aspect of basic firefighting at the Brayton Fire Training Field.

Derailed train serves as training ground for Passenger Rail Rescue course
  Though it might be mistaken for a movie set for the latest disaster flick, the Amtrak train at Disaster City® is a purposely staged “derailment” that serves as a training ground for passenger rail search and rescue. Sixteen responders recently spent a week on and around the seven-car passenger train derailment, learning and practicing the skills they would need to rescue victims of a passenger or commuter train incident.

25th Spring Fire School sets new record for attendance
  The TEEX Spring Fire Training School set a new attendance record last week as it celebrated its 25th anniversary. The annual school drew 410 firefighters and emergency responders to the Brayton Fire Training Field in College Station for a week of specialized training.

TEEX to conduct training for Minnesota HazMat Response Team
  The Minnesota HazMat Response Team has selected the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) to conduct hazardous materials training for 50 responders. They responders will attend a 50-hour course leading to certification at the NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials Transportation Specialist level.

FEMA selects TEEX to provide training for National Urban Search & Rescue Response System
  The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) a contract to provide all of the Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) training for the National US&R Response System. TEEX will provide US&R courses at various locations across the country and also at its Disaster City® training facility located in College Station, TX.

NJ Transit police officers complete rescue operations training at Disaster City
  The New Jersey Transit Police Department is sending two squads of approximately 20 officers through structural collapse and rescue courses at Disaster City® in College Station, which is operated by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).
