The Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service's (TEEX) Basic County Corrections meets the training requirements of the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) and prepares you for the state licensing exam. The blended learning course covers the duties of a correctional officer along with the knowledge and skills required to carry them out effectively and maintain control within a jail environment. Participants learn and practice the basic self-defense and inmate handling techniques required in a correctional setting.
TEEX offers the Basic County Corrections (BCC) course, which meets all training requirements set by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) to prepare jailers for the state licensing exam.
