Critical Infrastructure
TEEX Critical Infrastructure protection courses train professionals at both the jurisdiction and individual facility level in risk and resilience analysis of critical infrastructure. Training consists of awareness through advanced level courses designed to provide individuals from both the public and private sectors with operational and management skills to improve, or enhance, community resilience. Several DHS-grant courses are delivered to local jurisdictions throughout the United States and territories, while several other are available on a fee basis to public and private customers from around the world.

TEEX SPOTLIGHT: Puerto Rico Office of Homeland Security hosts TEEX Critical Infrastructure Protection Training
Two TEEX training staff from Public Safety & Security recently returned from a 10-day trip to Puerto Rico. Although it may sound like a vacation, Sam Cox and Vince Rose stayed quite busy delivering Department of Homeland Security/FEMA-funded grant courses in three locations to over 230 participants from across the U.S. territory.
The courses delivered were the newly developed and certified Advanced Critical Infrastructure Protection course and Critical Infrastructure & Key Resources courses. Both courses were developed through the TEEX National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center (NERRTC) at the request of the DHS Office of Infrastructure Protection.
Delivery of these courses enhanced collaborative partnership formation and information-sharing efforts on the island, while improving jurisdictional understanding of cross-sector interdependencies, and were well-received, said PS&S Training Manager Karl Rehn.
The host agency for this training was the Puerto Rico Office of Homeland Security, represented by Orlando Morales, the Puerto Rico Fusion Center Coordinator who sent the following comments:
