Student must present photo I.D. before written test. To receive Pro Board certification, you must successfully complete the required practical assessment and written exam. Students attending and participating will be required to modify a lesson in Power Point format therefore it is highly recommended students have good working knowledge of computers, computer projection equipment and the use of Microsoft Power Point.

This course is designed to meet the needs of entry-level fire and emergency service instructors. The course meets or exceeds the job performance requirements in NFPA 1041, Chapter 4. The target audience for this course includes the Department of Defense, Industrial Brigade, and/or Municipal personnel.
The Fire Instructor I course will provide the tools necessary to obtain certification through the National Professional Qualifications System (Pro Board), the Texas Commission of Fire Protection (TCFP) and/or State Firemen's and Fire Marshals' Association (SFFMA). The course is designed around classroom lectures, group activities, and individual presentations.
NOTE: Some Instructor I course offerings are for specific target audiences and may only provide one certification such as the DoD with Pro Board and Municipal with TCFP or SFFMA. Be sure to register for the correct class to ensure the required credential is offered.

Topics covered in the course include:
All emergency response personnel, including fire prevention, suppression, control and safety personnel.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be awarded 4.0 Continuing Education Units (CEU) certified through the International Association for Continuing Education & Training. This course is recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE) for 3 college semester hours.
Class will begin 8:00 A.M. on the first day.

Students should bring the same type of clothing as worn on normal duty at their plant, including bunker gear which is NFPA 1971 compliant.
A late fee of $50.00 will be assessed to payments made after the registration deadline for the Annual Fire School classes.
