Course Description


INV300 - Fire Investigator, T.C.F.P. Course Completer - 40.00 Hours

Prerequisites

Phases must be taken in sequence for certification purpose. Successful completion of Fire Investigator Phase 1 & 2 or equivalent must be submitted by the first day of class.

This course is eligible for C.E. credit, and maybe taken out of sequence, if desired for CE credit through TCFP.

STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO BRING THE MOST CURRENT EDITIONS OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • NFPA 921 – Guide for Fire/Explosion Investigations
  • IFSTA Fire Investigator
  • Kirks Fire Investigation

    Description

    NOTICE: A late fee of $50.00 will be assessed to payments made after the registration DEADLINE for the Annual Fire Training School classes.

    This is the third of three course, for those seeking certification through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) or State Fireman’s and Fire Marshals’ Association (SFFMA) to become a Fire Investigator.

    This course satisfies the 27 mandatory skills required by the TCFP and prepares the student for the TCFP certification exam.

    All Emergency Response personnel, including fire prevention, suppression, control and safety personnel.

    Class hours: 40 hours

  • Monday – Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 600 p.m.
  • Friday: 8:00 a.m. – Noon

    PPE Level: 2 (PLUS special needs listed below):

  • OSHA-NIOSH approved hard hat
  • OSHA-NIOSH approved eye protection
  • Cover-alls
  • Steel toe boots
  • Leather work gloves

    Students should bring the same type of clothing as worn on normal duty, including bunker gear which is NFPA 1971 compliant.
