Course Description


RES007 - NFPA 1006 2008 Edition Rope Rescue Level II Training - 32.00 Hours

Prerequisites

The participant must submit the following course certification requirement on the first day of class to be eligible for participation:
  • Rope Rescue Level I (NFPA 1006)

    Description

    Upon the successful completion of this course, emergency responders will have the skills and knowledge required for certification to Chapter 6.2. "Rope Rescue Level II," as described in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1006, Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications (2008 edition), including the areas of multipoint anchors, compound Mechanical Advantages (MA), highline systems, and pick-off systems. Participants who successfully complete the course and pass the required written and skills test will receive a National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro board) national certification.

    Audience

    This course is targeted for all emergency response personnel involved with technical rescue incident response, and is designed to meet the training requirements of NFPA 1006 Chapter 6.2, "Level II General Requirements."

    Equipment needed:
    Rescue helmet with a chin strap
    Leather gloves, eye protection
    Safety toe shoes with ankle support

    Courses will begin at 8 a.m. on the first day of class unless other arrangements have been made. Fees must be paid prior to or on the first day of class unless other arrangements have been made. Fees do not include lodging or meals.

    ANNUAL INDUSTRIAL FIRE SCHOOL IN JULY
    Class Limit: 25 students
    Class hours:

      Sun: 1:00 p.m. -5:00
      Mon - Thurs: 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
      Fri: 7:30 a.m. - until finished w/testing

    PPE Requirement: Level 2
    Go to www.teex.com/firesafety to read details in the TEEX Student Safety Manual. All students are required to follow this manual at all times.
    Students should bring the same type of clothing as worn on normal duty at their plant, including bunker gear which is NFPA 1971 compliant.

    A late fee of $50.00 will be assessed to payments made after the registration deadline for the Annual Fire School classes.
