Course Description


IND300 - Certified Fire Protection Specialist Primer Course - 32.00 Hours

Prerequisites

Participants must make application to NFPA and Register with TEEX prior to attending the course. To apply, visit www.nfpa.org, download an application and submit the application with the fee to NFPA. Once your CFPS registration form and registration fee have been processed by NFPA, you will be issued an authorization letter with instructions on how to schedule the CFPS exam as a computer-based test.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING TABBING THE FIRE PROTECTION HANDBOOK

  • The Fire Protection Handbook may be tabbed before the exam with commercial permanent adhesive type tabs similar to those provided with the Fire Protection Handbook. HOWEVER, post-it type notes and flags or other types of easily moveable tabs or physical markers (including paper clips) are NOT permitted at any time.

    This course is a 4 day intensive study course and test designed to teach the participate how to navigate through the NFPA Fire Protection Handbook 20th edition. Effective June 1, 2010, the 20th Edition of the Fire Protection Handbook will be the sole reference for CFPS Exams. This handbook consists of 200 chapters with over 3200 pages of information vital to Fire Protection Specialists. There are over 2,000 tables, figures and graphs. This course is designed to give you the skills you need to sit for the CFPS certification exam. You will learn examination strategies essential to successful completion of this or any other exam.
