PER216 - Acts of Terrorism/WMD Preparedness & Response for Electric Power Transmission - 24.00 Hours

Description

This 3-day course will train electric power system operators, supervisors, and management to prepare for, respond to, and recover for a terrorism/weapons of mass destruction (WMD) incident targeting electric power facilities and systems.

  • Discussion of Terrorism/WMD threats to electric power facilities and systems
  • Asessment of Terrorism/WMD risk to electric facilities and systems to determine existing state of preparedness
  • Identification of methods for reducing the terrorism/WMD threat to electric power facilities and systems
  • Response to and recovery from terrorism/WMD incidents
  • Means to provide information to the public and media in a timely and appropriate manner

    Audience

    • Employees from independent electric utilities including investor owned, public utilities, government-owned, cooperatives, and manufacturing industries that are involved in electric power.
