Description
Designed to meet requirements of TCLEOSE course #1000. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be eligible to take the State Peace Officer Licensing Test. In addition to preparing for the licensing test, students will participate in hands-on, practical training to better prepare them for the rigors of police work. Central Texas Police Academy - Daytime option is also available.

Participants are required to bring the following list of items to class:
Notebook paper (8 1/2" x 11")and notebook dividers (minimum 33)Blue ink pens, red ink pen, highlighters, #2 pencilsSmall dictionary, law dictionary (optional)Gear bag (recommended)Duty beltHandgun and secure holster - thumb-break styleMinimum of 2 speed loaders or 3 magazinesHandcuffs and key (Smith & Wesson, Peerless, Hiatts, etc.)and handcuff caseSpeed loader pouch or double magazine pouchStraight flashlight (Mag-lite, Surefire, Stream Light, etc.)and flashlight holderBelt keepers (minimum of 4)Black shoes or boots that can be polishedAthletic gear consisting of navy-colored shorts or sweats; athletic shoes and towel must be brought the first day of class and each day thereafter. (White t-shirt will be worn for PT prior to academy t-shirts being worn.) Students will be required to purchase two Academy T-shirts for PT and practical exercises.The required pants for the uniform are Dickies brand #874 Khaki pants. They are available from Wal-Mart and other common vendors for less than $20.00/pair. It is recommended that the student purchase at least three pair.
