Description

The first UXO Technician Level - I course was designed and developed by TEEX in 1999 and remains today the only civilian UXO Technician course originally granted certification by the U.S. Department of Defense prior to ceasing this requirement.

This four-week course provides participants with comprehensive, hands-on training in the safe detection, location, identification and disposal of unexploded ordnance using the techniques, tools and emerging technologies of today's UXO environmental remediation industry. Graduates of the course meet all U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) requirements necessary to work on USACE UXO remediation job sites. Students registered for the UXO Technician Level - I Course are also eligible to access the 40 hour HAZWOPER Clean-Up Operations on-line course through the TEEX Learning Management System.

    Potential students for the Unexploded Ordnance Technician, Level I, course must be in good physical condition. They must be capable of safely operating under stressful conditions and hazardous environments.

    Other Information

    Participants must submit the following items at least 21 days prior to the first day of class:

  • Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) physical
  • Results of a recent (within 30 days of class start date) 5 panel drug screen test
  • Results from a federal criminal history background check or TEEX has the ability to perform the federal background check at an additional cost of $15.00 for US residents.
  • UXO Applicant Letter for Admission
  • Full tuition payment
