WWW503 - Water Supply Protection Specialist - 16.00 Hours

This 16-hour class (TCEQ course #0501) provides the required training by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners,(TSBPE) to obtain the Water Supply Protection Specialist,(WSPS), endorsement on a plumbing license.

The Water Supply Protection Specialist may perform Customer Service Inspections as required by TCEQ Rules and Regulations of Public Drinking Water Systems. This class provides continuing education credit for Customer Service Inspector (CSI) and Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester’s (BPAT) license. This class also provides training credit towards a Plumbing Inspector’s license through TSBPE.

Other Information

NOTE: Participants must be currently licensed as a Master or Journeyman plumber to take the exam through TSBPE and receive the endorsement on their Plumbing License. Individuals without a Master or Journeyman plumber’s license may qualify for Continuing Education credit towards a Customer Service Inspector,(CSI)and Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester, (BPAT), license. Individuals may also receive Training Credit towards a Plumbing Inspector’s license by the TSBPE.

Completing this course provides:

  • Provides initial education to obtain the Water Supply Protection Specialist endorsement on a plumbing license
  • 16 hours of continuing education credit for licensed Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT)
  • 16 hours of continuing education credit for licensed customer Service Inspectors
  • 16 hours of continuing education credit for licensed Water Operators
  • 50 hours of training credit to an applicant for a Plumbing Inspectors License (through TSBPE)
