School violence has become a serious problem in the United States. This course is designed to enable participants to teach others how to control student violence that is directed at another student, teacher, or another staff member. Various skills will be taught that can be applied to small children who are acting out all the way through teenagers who are fighting or have assaulted a teacher.


There are no prerequisites for this class


  • Adolescent escort controls
  • Aggression and the Sympathetic Nervous System (SNS)
  • Disarming
  • Physical aggression management
  • Separating techniques


  • Teachers
  • School administrators
  • School-based police officers
  • Security personnel


  • Physical participation is required, participant must be in good physical condition and able to complete the following:
    • Handcuffing techniques
    • Defensive counter strikes
    • Joint locks
    • Grounding techniques


  • Participants should wear comfortable clothing for physical activity
