Two officials from the Rio Grande Valley made their way to College Station on Thursday to offer their sincere gratitude.

District 39 State Representative Armando Martinez and Hidalgo County Judge J.D. Salinas, III wanted to personally say thank you to rescue responders for their Hurricane Dean preparations.

Both men say they were impressed with detailed rescue operation they saw.

Knowing the dangers they could have faced, Martinez said he felt it was important for responders to know they were appreciated.

"We always want our first responders and our emergency personal who go out of their way to put themselves in harm's way that there are people that actually do appreciate them and want to thank them,” Martinez said.

During their address to rescue responders Martinez and Salinas pledged their support to the agency.
